Art Show photography

The children [year 4 and 5] collected numerous natural objects that interested them such as rocks, grasses, sand, leaves, pebbles, shells, sticks, bunny tails, bark etc

The items were arranged in any style or shape they wanted - they had to consider pattern, texture, tone and background as well as lighting and shadows

Considerations also had to be made for layering

The creation was photographed from different angles and using macro and super macro on the digital cameras

They also used various tricks to get different perspectives and often had buddies to create a background if needed to change the lighting or block out the backgrounds of unwanted objects

They used iPhoto to boost the colour or change to speia or add a vignette effect

The finished creations were then whittled down to between 3 - 6 chosen images and arranged on a WORD doc for display and printed onto photo quality paper

Photoshopped Imaging Warhol style

This is a twist on the normal photography of PEOPLE. Imaginative portraits

Taking images of people and using them as a basis for creating Warhol type artworks

Study some images of Warhol artwork and study the creations and styles

Take pictures of a partner showing any emotion or expression. Import them into photoshop and use the painting tools to paint over the images

Then the images can be added together to show the Warhol effect in WORD

OPV - Other Peoples Point of View

Using card frames from art stores - children pair up and photograph their buddy doing something that the PHOTOGRAPHER decides NOT the subject - it's thinking about how WE see the subject.

e.g. This is how I SEE Jack.....not how he sees himself...He is a manic talker so I photographed him with a microphone and added speech bubbles for effect

The trick is to focus on the subject...keep your finger on the shutter and place the frame where you want it and photograph so the subject is still in focus!
